Scope and Contents

Correspondence from William Dallam Dutton, Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Art for Pennsylvania of the Columbian Exposition, requesting permission to exhibit the sculpture at the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago, and a report of the Committee on Plans and Improvements declining the request (1892-1893). Also includes a 1985 letter from Penny Balkin Bach of the Fairmount Park Art Association regarding relocation of the sculpture from Sweetbriar Mansion to an area south of the Ellen Phillips Samuel Memorial on Kelly Drive.
