Scope and Contents
Correspondence regarding the Phillips Fountain building fund (1934), including letters from C.L. Borie to Joseph Carson proposing bronze Tritons by Carl Milles for the fountain (1934, 1936), and a letter from Stanley Woodward to Carson opposing the Tritons and suggesting nighttime lighting as a better use of funds (1936). Also includes correspondence regarding allocation of funds for installation (1955), a letter from the Art Commission approving a general design (1956), and clippings, meeting minutes, and invoices.
