Scope and Contents
Correspondence and architectural drawings related to the installation of the Giant Frog in Rittenhouse Square (1941), including a letter from architect Paul Philippe Cret discussing the Fairmount Park Commission's authority to bypass Art Jury approval, the proposed relocation of the Joan of Arc sculpture to Rittenhouse Square, and efforts to fast-track Art Jury approval before the Rittenhouse Square Flower Show. Architectural drawings by Cret are titled 'New footing and base for granite frog, Rittenhouse Square.' Also includes a letter from sculptor Cornelia Van Auken Chapin expressing gratitude to donors and an Art Jury resolution approving the plans and location.
