Florentine Lions, 1875-1887, 1997-2021
Scope and Contents
Correspondence from the Fairmount Park Art Association to the Fairmount Park Commission offering the Florentine Lions (1887), and a conservation treatment report (2019) and maintenance report (2021). Also includes an 1875 letter from a seller [signature illegible, possibly Caleb N.B. Sanders] offering a pair of stone lions purportedly imported from Italy and previously owned by Governor Mifflin and later Andrew Eastwick at his Grays Ferry estate. Possible relationship to the Florentine Lions is uncertain.
