Scope and Contents
This file includes exterior photographs of the park grounds and building, children using the playground equipment, and people swimming. Events depicted include the new gymnasium dedication ceremony (featuring Mayor Tate and Recreation Commissioner Robert Crawford), a hula hoop contest, a basketball clinic taught by 76er Billy Cunningham, a tumbling workshop, a Little Miss America contest, a costume parade, the pool dedication ceremony, and "Fisharama" -- where live fish were released into the pool and participants attempted to catch them with rods and reels.

The two photos taken around the 1950s were included in the City of Philadelphia Department of Recreation's maintenance file for Vogt Recreation Center. This file was donated to the archive in 2019.
