Interpretive Sign Projects
Scope and Contents
This collection contains project files and grant documentation from the Fairmount Park Commission's Planning, Preservation and Property Management Division, primarily documenting projects undertaken between 1984 and 2014. Major projects documented include the Bridge to Bridge Project, Cobbs Creek Community Environmental Education Center, Fairmount Water Works restoration, North Delaware Greenway Trail and interpretive signage, Preserve America Grant projects (Water Works signage, sculpture signage, and Museum Without Walls), and Park Houses interpretive signs. Files typically include correspondence, grant applications and awards, financial reports and budgets, contracts and agreements, design materials, background research, property acquisition documents, and project deliverables. The collection also includes documentation of archive operations such as conservation treatments, the Hidden Collections Initiative, and institutional partnerships. Materials are organized by project.
